The Hermitage School

Inspire, Learn, Achieve

Year 5 & 6 Football Achievements

The Hermitage Year 5 and 6 football teams did the school and themselves proud last week.

After winning all of our league games convincingly earlier on this year, the Year 6 boys' team played in the final competition to hopefully be crowned the best team in the Borough at Pirbright last Friday morning.

The final competition was The Hermitage and the three other schools who had won their league. The team with the most points at the end of the three matches would be crowned the winner.

Hermitage managed a historic 3 wins out of 3 by beating Bisley 5-0, Goldsworth 1-0 and Greenfield 3-2. Hermitage have won every league game this year, an amazing achievement. Well done the Year 6 team!

The Year 5 boys football team made it all the way to the league finals on Friday afternoon by winning all of their league games, to have a shot at being crowned the best school in the Borough.

Things started off brilliantly, with a 2-0 victory over Pirbright and a hard fought 1-0 win over New Haw.

Agonisingly, a 2-2 draw against West Byfleet was not enough to claim first place (officially) as West Byfleet were crowned winners on goal difference. Heartbreakingly, the team finished 2nd because of 1 goal, with West Byfleet and Hermitage having the same number of points.

The boys should be very proud of themselves and went through the whole competition without losing one of their matches, which is an incredible achievement, and one they should all be extremely proud of.
